Strategy and Market Research: What Works in the Industry

Without a clear strategy, it's easy to get distracted — a new website, ads, social media, but without answers to why now and for whom. Market research and prioritization save time and budget.

Strategy is not a presentation for the drawer

A good strategy answers three questions: who you serve, why they should choose you, and what you will do before everything else. Without this, tactics — advertising, SEO, redesign — are just random attempts.

With clients, I often see the opposite: a lot of activities, few connections. A strategy connects product, messaging, channels, and measurement into one plan that the team actually uses.

Market Research Without Unnecessary Theory

Research doesn't have to mean months of analysis. It's enough to systematically review competitors, pricing, messaging, reviews, search queries, and sales calls — and look for gaps that you can own.

I'm interested in what works in the industry and what is already stale. Where customers complain about competitors, where no one communicates price or process clearly, and where there is room for differentiation.

Prioritization by Impact

Not everything is equally important. Together with the client, we score initiatives based on impact, effort, and risk — typically a mix of quick wins (website, measurement, landing page) and medium-term bets (product, content, partnerships).

In projects like ISOTRA, it was about aligning product strategy, design, and go-to-market priorities — not about an isolated redesign, but about deciding where to steer the brand and portfolio next.

From Strategy to Execution

A strategy only makes sense if it results in a concrete plan — who, what, by when, and how we measure. I do not separate strategy from execution: the same person who designs the plan can implement it in design, web, or marketing.

The result is not a thick document, but clarity within the team and confidence in external communication — and fewer costly dead ends along the way.
